Trae Young’s 52 Assists Put Charlotte’s Guard Depth on Trial

Charlotte arrives at 3-2 and 14th in the power index, while Washington is 2-3 and ranked 20th. The Wizards average 113.6 points per game, a notable test for a Hornets defense allowing 108.2. Trae Young has recorded 52 assists and 103 points through five games, while Anthony Davis leads Washington with 109 points and 42 rebounds. Charlotte’s guard picture is unsettled: Coby White is out and Dennis Schroder is questionable. The key question is whether Young can turn his playmaking into pressure on the Hornets, while Brandon Miller—Charlotte’s leading scorer with 128 points—keeps pace.
